Visa Information

Citizens of non-Schengen countries may need to apply for a visa to participate in IC2S2 2025. Below we have outlined the required steps for citizens of the largest participant groups at IC2S2 2023 and 2024. If you are a citizen of a different country, please visit Migrationsverket's website and use the dropdown menu to find steps to apply for a visa to the Schengen area.

U.S. Citizens

U.S. Citizens must apply for a Schengen visa at VFS Global. The visa will cost $98 plus a service fee of ca. $22, and takes about 15 days to be issued. In addition, you will need to provide proof of a travel insurance, a hotel reservation, a flight itinerary, and an invitation to Sweden.

U.K. Citizens

Citizens of the United Kingdom must submit an E-application to Migrationsverket via VFS Global. The visa takes up to about 10 days once requested, and it is recommended to apply for a visa at least one month in advance.

Japanese Citizens

Japanese Citizens must apply for a Schengen visa at VFS Global. The responsible Swedish embassy for Japan is located in Bangkok. The visa will cost €90 plus a service fee of €20 (ca. ¥18,000), and takes about 15-45 days to be issued, but can take considerably longer. In addition to your application, you will need to provide your itinerary and an invitation to Sweden.
